In this ever-changing year, the Francis Howell Central Spartan Hockey Club is having to adapt and make some changes with our coaching positions.

Head Coach Doug Kraft has announced that he is moving back to Wisconsin to coach his beloved Beaver Dam High School Hockey program. Although sorry to see him go, we wish him well.

As such, the Board is happy to announce that Mark Jones has accepted the Head Coach position.  Jones has been an Assistant Coach for the last three years and is extremely excited for the opportunity. "Mark brings a passion and skill set to the position that is truly appreciated," said Kyle Blumenberg, Club President. "His existing knowledge and relationship with all of the players is a tremendous strength as well."

Jones played youth hockey for St. Peters Spirit and then the Chesterfield Falcons U18 Central States team, which included a National Championship in 2012. He also played for Francis Howell North... but he is all Spartan now! He played college hockey at Missouri State ACHA D3 and has been coaching with our club since he returned home. Mark has a bachelor’s degree in Economics, with a double minor in Marketing and Psychology. He is also a diehard Blues fan and member of Chiefs Kingdom.

In addition, the Club welcomes Graham Nave and Andrew Fuegner as our new Assistant Coaches. Nave played goalie for the Spartans and Andrew played for the Francis Howell Vikings.  Both also played college hockey with Jones, so it's an all Bears coaching staff overseeing our Spartan's growth and development!!

We look forward to a more stable and fun season going forward!
