The Francis Howell Central Spartan Hockey Club is proud to announce that Doug Kraft has been named the new Varsity Head Coach for the Spartans. Kraft will join current Assistant Coaches Kyle Gismegian and Mark Jones as he takes over for the 2020-2021 Mid States Hockey season.
“We are pleased to have a coach of Doug’s caliber,” says Kyle Blumenberg, Club President. “He is highly qualified for the position, bringing more than 9 years of high school and club coaching experience, including last year with the St. Peters Spirit Bantam AA team. We are fortunate to have someone who will provide a positive experience centered around development and team building.”
Kraft previously lived in Wisconsin and moved to St. Charles County in 2019. Prior to coaching at St. Peters, Kraft was Head Coach of Stoughton High School Varsity, and before that he coached in the Beaver Dam Hockey Association, including a Bantam A team that won back-to-back Wisconsin State Championships in 2017 and 2018. He also coached for Beaver Dam High School.
Kraft is a USA Hockey Master Coach with Level 5 Certification. He has experience with all levels from Mite to Midget and has evaluated players for numerous clubs and organizations, including Central States Developmental Hockey League. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Northern Michigan University.
